RE: New tires?

I have always heard that the mark is " 5 years " and that might be a bit early if you protect them as you have stated.

And did he tell you why the thermo fuse blew? And is this the fuse that was part of the recall retrofit? Hope you were shown where it was in case it goes out again......Good post

RE: Water pumped out of city inlet when pump on???

And sometimes it is destroyed and has to be replaced. Or put a regular hose cap on it and not worry about.

RE: I-75 between Chattanooga and Knoxville

No major delays unless an accident. I-40 thru Knoxville is closed. All traffic is rerouted onto I-640. Pay attention to directional signs and you should have no problem. Someone else will have to advise on 321 or 411. I think time wise, I-75/I-40 is the better route. AGREE we just came down last weekend on that route.

RE: Frig in my 5er stopped working....need help

If this was one of the recall units and you had the work performed you might find a thermo fuse open. This fuse is at the stack where they installed the sheet metal guards..Good Luck

RE: Air Conditioner Covers

I cover my AC unit. Keeps out the bugs, etc. Works for me also, after having to tear the shroud off to remove a large mud dauber nest off of one of my fan blades.

RE: How long should Walk thru at dealership take for inspecting?

@@@Sundowner1@@@@@For the uninformed. PDI is pre-delivery inspection. It is performed by the dealer prior to delivery of the unit to the customer.@@ MAYBE in your world but both of my rigs the dealer and I did do the PDI together. As the units were factory ordered the dealer called me the day before they were delivered and I was right their when the driver unloaded.

RE: How long should Walk thru at dealership take for inspecting?

I would figure on a half a day unless this is your first 5er, and then it might take a bit longer. Good if you can video record the PDI in case you forget down the road how something was explained..Good Luck

RE: 2007 Keystone Cougar Exit Window Blowout

I had the opposite window blow out and it was caused by the frane seperating. Out of warranty but still should not have seperated. I did recover mine so know exactly why it failed. Buy from the window manufacturer and save about 40%

RE: Maxxis (D) vs. Carlisle (E) vs. Marathon (C)

Sure is confusing for us that are looking to replace them before heading South for the winter...I have a hard time finding a source for Maxxis in Alabama.

RE: WATER HEATER PLUG IN OR OUT?

I would just put it in loosely so if there is any water it can leak out. Remember to tighten in spring. Back in to also retard any rusting of the threads.

RE: Graphic designs peeling on Cougar

What are you guys using to clean off the nose of your camper? Could you be using something too caustic? rjsurfer Maybe the bug removers have some effect. As we Snowbird every winter to any of the top 3 locations we do get to remove bugs on a regular basis. I tried to keep mine well waxed and only used approved bug removal methods, but they still started peeling along the edges.

RE: Graphic designs peeling on Cougar

Seems like about 5 years is about it for Cougars. You can buy new graphics from several vedors or you can do as I have done. Just remove the "Disney" graphics. The stripes seem to hold up a bit longer and you can buy stripes cheaper than the full graphics when it is time to replace them. I like the cleaner look without everything but the stripes. JMO

RE: KY to Tuscaloosa, Alabama; gas available?

Just remember that you will be in competition with the NASCAR fans coming in for the races. I would try to hit the Birmingham area with fuel and hope that Tuscaloosa will have fuel..Roll Tide
